Cleaning out your Ice Bucket should be considered a regular routine maintenance task. Over time ice chips accumulate at the bottom and
freeze together. When you start to get a build up at the bottom like this, it can cause damage to the spiral that pushes out the ice. The Ice Buckets are not cheap to replace.
The First thing you want to do is remove the bucket from the freezer. Lift it up and pull it out.
Now Turn off the Ice Maker
The Next thing to do is get rid off the ice that's in the bucket now.
After that rinse out and wash the bucket. It's ok to use a mild detergent to clean it, just make sure you rinse it out well.
Allow the Ice Bin to completely dry before returning it to the freezer.
It's Best to do this about every month or two.
